Colt McCoy Career Highlights
Colt McCoy 2007 Season in Review:
Colt McCoy started off the 2007 season with some Heisman
buzz, but a disappointing Longhorns season dimmed
hopes.  McCoy was hampered by interceptions, but managed
a 22 to 18 TD/INT ratio.  McCoy led the Horns to a 10-3 record
in 2007 and with the early departure of RB Jamal Charles,
McCoy will be counted on even more.

2007 highlights include:
  • 4 TD passing performances against Iowa state and
    Texas Tech.
  • Rushed for 492 yards and 4 TD's.
  • Completed 276 of 424 passes (65.1%) for 3,303
    passing yards
Colt McCoy 2006 Season in Review:

Colt McCoy started the 2006 season with the daunting task of
following the national championship heroics of Vince young.
Although Young will forever be remembered for magic
against USC in the BCS championship game, Colt McCoy
took great strides in 2006 towards staking his own
successful Longhorn legacy.
As a 6-3, 205 pound redshirt freshman, McCoy started all 13
games ... a Davey O’Brien Award semifinalist ... recognized
as The Sporting News’ National Freshman of the Year along
with many additional similar awards.  McCoy became the first
freshman QB in UT history to win 10 games... completed 217-
of-318 passes (68.2%) for 2,570 yards and 29 TDs (seven
INTs) ... the 29 TD passes set a UT single-season record
and tied the NCAA’s single-season freshman mark ... set UT’
s single-game record with six TD passes against Baylor ...
threw TD passes in 11 of 13 games and two TD passes in
10 games.  His 161.8 passer rating ranked eighth nationally .
the first UT freshman quarterback to start and win the season
opener since Bobby Layne in 1944.
