Colt McCoy 2007 Season in Review: Colt McCoy started off the 2007 season with some Heisman buzz, but a disappointing Longhorns season dimmed hopes. McCoy was hampered by interceptions, but managed a 22 to 18 TD/INT ratio. McCoy led the Horns to a 10-3 record in 2007 and with the early departure of RB Jamal Charles, McCoy will be counted on even more.
2007 highlights include:
- 4 TD passing performances against Iowa state and
Texas Tech.
- Rushed for 492 yards and 4 TD's.
- Completed 276 of 424 passes (65.1%) for 3,303

Colt McCoy 2006 Season in Review:
Colt McCoy started the 2006 season with the daunting task of following the national championship heroics of Vince young. Although Young will forever be remembered for magic against USC in the BCS championship game, Colt McCoy took great strides in 2006 towards staking his own successful Longhorn legacy. As a 6-3, 205 pound redshirt freshman, McCoy started all 13 games ... a Davey O’Brien Award semifinalist ... recognized as The Sporting News’ National Freshman of the Year along with many additional similar awards. McCoy became the first freshman QB in UT history to win 10 games... completed 217- of-318 passes (68.2%) for 2,570 yards and 29 TDs (seven INTs) ... the 29 TD passes set a UT single-season record and tied the NCAA’s single-season freshman mark ... set UT’ s single-game record with six TD passes against Baylor ... threw TD passes in 11 of 13 games and two TD passes in 10 games. His 161.8 passer rating ranked eighth nationally . the first UT freshman quarterback to start and win the season opener since Bobby Layne in 1944.
