Tyreke Evans Scoring as NBA Rookie of the Year Candidate
Although he wasn't the first player selected in the 2009 NBA Draft, Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans is earning top billing as the leagues top producing rookie. Through January 10th, Evans led all NBA rookies in scoring (20.7 PPG) and ranked 13th overall in the league.
Evans' impact with the Kings isn't limited to shooting the ball. The 6-6 playmaker is also producing (5.1) rebounds and (5.0) assists per contest. The Kings rookie has also displayed double-double abilities and scored his first one in a late-November game against the Knicks. In that 111-97 win over New York, Evans scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and seven assists.
