Paul Posluszny was an All-American member of the
famed Penn State linebacker corps (Linebacker U) before
being drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the 2nd round of the
2006 NFL Draft. A very promising and productive rookie
season was ended in week when Posluszny suffered a
season-ending broken wrist. With the promise of more

Paul Posluszny Collegiate Highlights: A Nittany Lion on the Prowl

Paul Posluszny starred at Penn State from 2003 to 2006.
Posluszny made such an impact at Penn State that in 2005,
Posluszny became the first junior captain for Penn State since
Mike Reid and Steve Smear in 1968. Posluszny created havoc on
opposing offenses by posting 116 tackles on the season,
including 14 for loss and 4 sacks.

A Trophy Winner

Posluszny was named Big Ten Defensive Player-of-the-Week a
record-breaking three consecutive times during the 2005 season
and then joined LaVar Arrington as the second Penn State player
to win both the Chuck Bednarik and Dick Butkus Awards as the
College Defensive Player and Linebacker of the Year respectively.

A Senior Year to Remember

Posluszny won the 2006 Chuck Bednarik Award to become only
the second person (after Pat Fitzgerald) to win the award two
times. The tackling machine was also named a member of the
2006 All-American Team, the first Nittany Lion linebacker to be a
two-time AP All-American.
