2009/10 College Player of the Year
after leading the Big 10

1960 National Championship Team
The Buckeyes led the nation by averaging 90.4 points per game, which was 20 points higher than the NCAA
scoring average that season.  Lucas averaged 26.3 points per game.  The team also featured John Havlicek
and Bob Knight .  The 1960 team would have a huge impact on basketball that extended far beyond the 1960
season.  It featured  two Hall of Fame players in Jerry Lucas and John Havlicek, had six players drafted by the
NBA and also featured Bobby Knight who became the winningest basketball coach in NCAA history

NCAA Final Four in New Orleans
The Buckeyes earned the No. 2 seed in the East region.
 OSU has advance to the Elite 8.  With one more win,
fans will be wearing Ohio State Final Four T-Shirts and
Hats for the first time since 2007.
  • Round 1:  OSU defeated No. 15 seed Loyola
    (Md.) 78-59.  Deshaun Thomas scored a career-
    high 31 points and snagged 12 rebounds.
  • Round 2: OSU upended No. 7 seeded Gonzaga
    73 to 66.  Jared Sullinger fought off foul trouble
    to the squad with 18 points and Deshaun
    Thomas added 18 points and 7 rebounds.
  • With two more wins fans will have the
    opportunity to wear Ohio State Final Four T-
    Shirts and Gear for the first time since 2007.
  • Round 3: The Buckeyes blow by Cincinnati 81-
    66.
  • Round 4:The Buckeyes outlasted Syracuse and
    earned their first Final Four trip since 2007

The last time the Buckeyes captured a Men's NCAA Basketball Championship was in 1960.  For the Buckeyes to clinch the program's 2nd  national title,
Coach Thad Matta's squad will have to defeat a tremendously strong Kansas aquad.  Defeating KU in Saturday's Final 4 match up will be the key to that
accomplishment.
