- This franchise moved from Seattle in 2008 and dropped the
SuperSonics name in favor of the Thunder. While in Seattle the franchise claimed one NBA Championship which was earned in 1979.
- The team competes in the NorthWest Division in the NBA's
Western Conference. As the Thunder, the franchise won its first division title in the 2010/11 season.
- The team plays in the Oklahoma City Arena which was formerly
known as the Ford Center. OKC has played there since 2008.
- Rumble the Bison is the Thunder's mascot. Rumble won NBA
Mascot of the Year honors in 2008/09.
