Top questions regarding the draft - updated 1/20/10
Who will be the first
player selected?
Sam Bradford has emerged to be the odds on favorite to be the overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft.  Despite rumors
that the Rams might be looking instead at Colt McCoy with their 2nd round pick, Bradford is the overwhelming choice.
When will Tim Tebow be
selected and by whom?
Despite tremendous collegiate stats, athleticism, leadership and other desirable intangibles, Tim Tebow is not
showing up on many first round mock draft boards.  As Tebow played his final season at Florida, there was
speculation that the Jacksonville Jaguars had their eyes focused on the local product who would be a box office
bonanza.  However the Jags - Tebow discussion seems to have died down.
How will Colt McCoy's
BCS game injury affect
his draft status?
Not only did Texas' championship hopes fade when Colt McCoy was injured early in the BCS Championship game,
but McCoy's elite draft status was likely sacked as well.  Although few if any mock drafts have McCoy being picked in
the first round, DraftSite.com has McCoy being picked with the first selection (as of 1/20/10) of the second round
First Running Back
Selected?
The days of NFL teams needing a "franchise" back seem to be fading.  The focus of running back by committee has
forced the top backs deeper into the first round in recent years.  The trend appears likely to continue in 2010.
Clemson's
CJ. Spiller and Georgia Tech's Jonathan Dwyer seem to be gaining the most first round mock draft
support.  Cal's
Jahvid Best is also high on many boards as well.
