Kyrie Irving
College: Duke
6-3/191 pounds
Born: March 3, 1992
Hometown: West Orange, NJ
Although an injury limited this talented
point guard to just a handful of Duke
University regular season games,   Even
without much on the floor experience,
Irving was projected by most NBA Draft
pundits to be the top player from the
2011 talent pool.  NBADraft.net
describes the 6-3 point guard as a "true'
PG with a great feel for the game.

What NBA Scouts Said About Irving
Heading into the 2011 Draft
"A chance to be special" is how the former Duke star is
described by NBADraft.net.  The website also pointed
out that he is a facilitator who shows the ability to make
those around him better.  Although there are few
weaknesses or concerns seen in his playing style,
durability is listed as something that may slow the
growth of this budding star.  A turf toe injury as a
freshman at Duke limited him to just eight games.

First Pick in the NBA Draft
With Kyrie Irving iselected as the #1
overall selection in the 2011 NBA Draft,
he has further bolstered Duke
University's legacy with that honor.
The first Blue Devil to achieve that honor
was Elton Brand who was picked by the
Chicago Bulls with the first pick of the
1999 NBA Draft.
