Kansas has enjoyed considerable national success, having been selected Helms
Foundation National Champions in 1922 and 1923
1952 National Champs: Kansas Jayhawks won the national championship in 1952
1998 National Champs:  Coach Larry Brown directed the Kansas Jayhawks to a national
championship in 1988.
2008 National Champs:  Coach Bill Self leads Kansas to a thrilling overtime win over
Memphis in the national championship game as the Jayhawks reach the top one more
time.  Kansas finishes the season with a remarkable 37-3 record.

thriller to win an NCAA
Basketball National
Championship
Mario Chalmers delivered a dramatic
3-point shot in the final seconds of
regulation to tie the game and send
the national championship game into
overtime.
Kansas and Memphis performed like
two basketball giants as splendid
performances by both squads
caused the game's lead and
momentum to swing back and forth.
KU's Mario Chalmers poured in 18
points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.  
Darrell Arthur had a big
championship night with 20 points
and 10 rebounds.  Brandon Rush, a
key figure in the national
championship drive also hit double
figures with 12 points and 6
rebounds.
