This former New York Yankees top prospect joined
the Seattle Mariners organization in the offseason
prior to the 2012 season. Montero was traded for
three players so ther are big expectations for him to
come in and deliver strong numbers as Seattle hopes
to reclaim its position among baseball's elite. With
expectations of being a slugger, the new Seattle
catcher was called up to the big leagues for the first
time last September. Highlights included hitting two
home runs in one game and finishing with a .328
batting average and four home runs in limited play.
