quite a Heisman buzz in recent years and Trojan quarterback John David
Booty is now in position to add another Heisman to the university's trophy
case. The Trojans have a national spotlight and will be a preseason
favorite to contend for a national championship. The 6-3, 210 pound
Booty passed for 3,310 yards in 2006 and had an impressive 29-9 Td vs
interception ratio. Booty also had Southern Cal in the national title hunt
until a late season loss to UCLA.
Although this will only be Booty's second season as the Trojans' starting
signal caller, he will be a senior in 2007. Booty spent much of his USC
career backing up Matt Leinart.
Booty is not the first collegiate quarterback from his family. His brother
Josh threw for almost 4.000 career yards for the LSU Tigers. His brother
Abram was also a wide receiver for LSU.
