As a junior at Notre Dame, Tate scored 15
TD's and 1,496 yards receiving.  Tate was
also a force on the ground with 186 yards
rushing and two scores.  The wide receivers
best collegiate effort was in his last game.  
Against Stanford, he impressed NFL scouts
with 10 receptions for 201 yards and 3 TD's.
The draft stock of Tate was raised at the NFL
Combine when he ran a 4.36 40-yard dash.

Heading into the 2010 NFL, FFToolbox.com had this to say about the former Notre Dame
receiver.  "He is quick off the line and is able to reach top speed (4.44) within a couple of
steps. Tate uses moves and hands to get off press coverage. With excellent straight up
speed and quickness, Tate is able to make the first defender miss on regular bases. Tate
has good, strong hands, and is routinely showing off his ability to catch the ball away from his
body."  The scouting service had Tate just a notch below Oklahoma State's Des Bryant and

Golden on the Diamond
Besides being a star receiver for the
Fighting Irish, Tate was a member of
Notre Dame's baseball squad.  After
high school, Tate was drafted in the
42nd round of the Amateur Draft by the
Arizona Diamondbadks.  
Tate's best collegiate baseball season
was his sophomore year when he
batted .329 in 55 games.
NFL Draft Predictions for Golden Tate
Tate's draft stock trended upwards following the league's Scouting Combine.  Scouts took
notice as the wide out blazed his 40-yard dash speed (4.36) and that development burst
him into the top round in many NFL mock drafts.  

As of March 3, 2010, NewNFLDraft.com has Tate going to Cincinnati with the 21st pick of the
draft.  BleacherReport.com also reported on March 3, that they believed Cincinnati would
select him in the first round as well.
