Basketball National Championship in the following

UConn 1999 National Championship

After emerging as a national power in the
1990's, Jim Calhoun's Huskies made it to the
March Madness Elite 8 in 1990, 1996 and 1998.  
UConn fans finally had the opportunity to wear
UConn National Championship gear in 1999
when the Huskies out dueled Duke 77 to 74.

UConn star Richard "Rip" Hamilton was the
NCAA Tournament MVP
UConn 2004 National Championship

Following UConn's 1999 NCAA title, the Huskies
maintained their championship level of play.  
Connecticut made it back to the NCAA Elite 8 in
2002 before slashing their way back into the
Final Four in 2004.

An 82-73 win over Georgia Tech in the NCAA title
game gave UConn their 2nd national
championship.  Huskes star Emeka Okafor was
named the NCAA Tournament MVP.
