Although Jackson committed to Georgia Tech out of
Denton, Texas' Billy Ray High School, he instead
signed with the New York Yankees who had selected
him in the 8th round of the 2005 MLB Baseball Draft.  
Feeling high on this prospect, New York offered
Jackson an $800k signing bonus which was a record
setting figure for a pick from that round.  The former
Yankees prospect was traded to the Tigers in 2009
and is now making an impact in Detroit.
