What NFL Scouts Said about Dalton
before the 2011 Draft
Heading into the draft, NFLDraftScout.com had the
TCU product rated as the 6th best QB in the draft.  His
projected round for being drafted was the 2nd, but
just a few days before the draft, his stock was rising.

According to MockingTheDraft.com, here were
specific scouting report bullet points affecting his draft
status.

Arm Strength and Accuracy: Dalton has tremendous
accuracy with the ability to put the ball where only the
receiver can catch it..  Arm strength may be a slight
issue as he struggles with pushing the ball deep
down field.  May be best suited for a West Coast
offensive system.

Athleticism: Big bonus here as Dalton has the ability
to move the chains with his rushing skills.

NFL Ready: Playing in the shotgun system will require
the former TCU QB to adjust to NFL style offenses.

Mechanics: Has a strong over-the-top delivery. Good
follow through. Has solid footwork on delivery

Leadership: Dalton is a poised and tough leader who
teammates will follow
