When it comes to a winning tradition, the Crimson Tide
often "Roll" through the SEC and Beyond
  • The University first played baseball in 1892 when Alabama enjoyed and
    undefeated 1-0 season
  • Alabama leads the SEC in all-time wins
  • The Crimson Tide's home venue is Sewell-Thomas Stadium.  The on
    campus facility is seats 6,571 fans and is nicknamed the "Joe."
  • The school's all-time winningest coach is Jim Wells who managed Bama
    baseball from 1995 through 2009.  Wells guided Alabama to the College
    World Series three times and logged an overall record of 625-322.
  • The Crimson Tide earned their first CWS appearance in 1950 when Tilden
    Campbell's diamond squad earned a 22-12 record.
  • Although Alabama still seeks its first College Baseball national
    championship, Bama did finish as runner-ups in 1983 and 1997.

With a seating capacity of 6,571, the Crimson Tide's
baseball venue has hosted some of college baseball's
biggest crowds.  Along with cheering the University's
baseball team, fans enjoy the Tide's gameday traditions of
playing the Rednex song and the "Cotton-Eyed-Joe" during
the sixth inning.
