A Sun Devil Before he became "Mr.
October!"
For a college football player to be dubbed Mr. October,
you might think that his best games were saved for
homecoming. However, ASU's Mr. October was the
one and only Reggie Jackson.

Jackson actually arrived in Tempe on a football
scholarship before starring for the university's
baseball team.   Jackson earned a spot in ASU's Hall
of Fame for his tremendous play in the 1960's and
joined Cooperstown for his consistent home run
prowess that intensified in World Series play.
Before he became the
Home Run King
Long before he entered the MLB
record books for most home runs hit
in a season and career, Barry Bonds
starred as an outfielder for Arizona
State.  Bonds earned First-Team
All-American honors in 1985 for the
Sun Devils.
While playing for ASU, Bonds hit .347
with 45 home runs and 175 RBI's.  In
1985, he was drafted by the Pirates
in the first round of the draft.

If ASU can defeat Texas in the Austin Super Regional then fans will have the
opportunity of donning Arizona State College World Series T-Shirts and Caps.  
The University has made it to the CWS appearance an amazing 22 times with
the last visit to Omaha coming in 2010.  A 2011 CWS appearance is now
closer after ASU defeated Texas in the Super Regional Opener!
